Engineer-in-Training Program

We offer a world class Engineer-in-Training Program with exciting and diverse career opportunities. You will join other graduates in a comprehensive training program designed to provide you with the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to become Junior Engineers. Successful candidates will also be exposed to challenging assignments that will provide training towards a Professional Engineer designation.

Program Objectives:

  • To attract and retain graduates to work for Manitoba Hydro on a permanent basis.
  • To aid graduates in their transition from the University setting to the business setting through work experience, training and mentoring.
  • To provide orientation to Manitoba Hydro through rotational training assignments. These assignments will assist trainees in understanding the various functional areas and work processes within the Corporation.
  • To ensure that trainees are placed in assignments that develop their individual talents and result in work experience that can be used towards registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Manitoba (APEGM).

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Engineering (Electrical, Civil or Mechanical).

While in the program, you will be placed in six-month assignments throughout the Corporation. While progressing through the program, participants are expected to achieve their professional accreditation from the Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of Manitoba.
